Hyosung TNC Participates as Official Partner of ‘Save Race 2026’...Produces Regen Goods

    Hyosung TNC has partnered with Kakao Bank to participate as an official partner in the eco-friendly charity marathon “Save Race 2026.”

    On the morning of February 24, Hyosung TNC will sign a mutual cooperation agreement at Kakao Bank's Pangyo office to enhance the event’s eco-friendly elements.

    Save Race is a marathon event jointly hosted annually by Kakao Bank and UNICEF Korea Committee since 2024. All participation fees will be donated to support children affected by the global climate crisis. This year’s event is scheduled to be held in November.

    Under this agreement, Hyosung TNC will provide Save Race 2026 participants with eco-friendly goods packages, including T-shirts and bags, made from ‘Regen’ fibers. In addition, Regen materials will be applied to large-scale event banners and small banners, which will be collected after the event and recreated into upcycled goods as part of a resource circulation model.

    Hyosung TNC’s Regen is a recycled polyester yarn produced from used PET bottles, first released in 2008. It has the effect of reducing carbon emissions by approximately 67% and cutting down the use of fossil fuel by about 80% during the production process compared to conventional polyester. In particular, it has obtained the environmental label certification for the first time in the domestic textile industry in January of this year.

    Also to be carried out is the "Regen Recycling Campaign," which involves placing used PET bottle collection bins at the event venue to collect discarded PET bottles and recycle them into Regen fibers. The Regen eco-truck event booth will be set up to showcase Regen’s circular production process, increasing awareness and understanding of Regen by allowing participants to engage in games and create eco-friendly goods.

    The ‘Regen Recycling Campaign’ is an in-house eco-friendly campaign that began at Hyosung TNC's Mapo headquarters in 2022 and has since expanded its operations to all business sites, such as Ulsan, Gumi, and Daegu. This campaign is operated by offering Regen products made from recycled PET bottles to employees who collect and deposit used PET bottles in collection bins installed within the company.

    “Hyosung TNC has been leading Korea’s eco-friendly textile market centered on Regen. We aim to contribute further to building a sustainable society and practicing ESG management by participating in Save Race 2026,” an official of Hyosung TNC said.
