Hyosung Heavy Industries has unveiled a whole host of future power solutions in Europe, which is leading the trends in the AI and renewable energy power generation markets.
On the 26th, the company announced that it will participate in ‘CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric Systems) Paris Session 2024’, the largest power grid system exhibition in the world, to be held in Paris, France from the 26th to 30th (local time). The ‘CIGRE Paris Session’ is an academic conference and exhibition with over 10,000 power industry professionals in attendance from over 100 countries worldwide.
At this exhibition, Hyosung Heavy Industries will unveil the latest trends in power equipment and system solutions that it supplies worldwide, including ultra-high voltage transformers, circuit breakers, ESS (energy storage system), STATCOM (static synchronous compensator/ reactive power compensation device), and HVDC (ultra-high voltage direct current system). In particular, it plans to captivate European customers who value ‘carbon neutrality’ by spotlighting GIS, which innovatively reduces carbon emissions, ESS, which increases the efficiency of renewable energy generation, and HVDC, a core technology for constructing future transmission networks, at the forefront.
Additionally, the company will stage a technology forum for global core customers called ‘Future Grid Insight Forum’ during the exhibition. As the second one held in 22 years, this forum will feature key figures from major power companies in Europe, USA, and Asia as distinguished speakers to communicate with nearly 40 customer entities around the world. Presentations will be given on diverse topics, such as the increase in data centers due to AI, digital substations, and carbon neutrality, and the SF6-Free GIS (low-carbon power equipment) of Hyosung Heavy Industries’ Europe-Based R&D Center will be introduced.
CEO Tae-hee Woo of Hyosung Heavy Industries said, “With our history of delivering solutions to various customers in the fields of carbon reduction and high-efficiency power systems, this occasion presents an opportunity to showcase our prowess as a partner that solves customers’ problems as a ‘solution provider’ in the future power market.”
Meanwhile, Hyosung Heavy Industries has strengthened its foothold in the European power market by signing a long-term supply contract for ultra-high voltage transformers worth KRW 330 billion with a Norwegian state-owned power company on the 27th (local time) during CIGRE, and a circuit breaker supply contract worth KRW 22 billion with an Icelandic state-owned power company on the 28th, the largest single supply of GIS (gas-insulated switchgear) in Europe.
