Hyosung staged the '2024 Hyosung-Purme Foundation Family Excursion' with families of children with disabilities affiliated with the Purme Foundation on an excursion to Hongcheon, Gangwon-do for two nights and three days from September 27 to 29.
A total of 65 people participated in this trip, including 10 families of Hyosung employees and 10 families of children with disabilities. Families from each respective group paired up to travel together for two nights and three days in the Hongcheon area.
The families enjoyed recreational activities such as playing on water rides, making pizza, and feeding animals at Vivaldi Park, Ocean World, and Yangpyeong Imsil Cheese Village.
A parent of a child disabilities who participated in the event said, “For the past 10 years, I have been hastily focused on my child’s treatment without pause, so I regarded travel as a luxury, but having taken this trip, I was able to relieve stress and revitalize my vigor to return to my routine life and live with joy.”
Since 2013, Hyosung has supported the rehabilitation treatment costs for children with disabilities in their growth stages in tandem with the Purme Foundation. Since 2015, it has been conducting family excursions every year for children with disabilities who have difficulty traveling due to their usual rehabilitation treatment schedules, wheelchairs, etc., non-disabled siblings who tend to be more reclusive, and parents of children with disabilities who have difficulty traveling due to time and financial difficulties.
Meanwhile, Hyosung persistently undertakes social contribution activities for the rehabilitation and welfare of people with disabilities by supporting the production of barrier-free movies for the visually and hearing impaired to also enjoy them, sponsoring the creative activities of artists with disabilities at the Seoul Disability Art Center, and empowering its employees to assist with outdoor activities for children at disability-geared daycare centers every month.
