As the inaugural event of its official launch, HS Hyosung held a town hall meeting called ‘HS Hyosung Talk Together, Season 1’ and undertook volunteer service at Korea’s first smart farm for people with disabilities.

At the town hall meeting held on the 27th of last month, more than 1,000 executives and employees of HS Hyosung and its affiliates/subsidiaries worldwide participated personally on site and online, engaging in two-way communication.

HS Hyosung's first-ever town hall meeting in Hyosung's history, reflects Vice Chairman Cho's ambition to create an upbeat and inclusive corporate culture with executives and employees by communicating with each other instead of a formal launch ceremony.

In a casual and laid-back atmosphere, he presented HS Hyosung's vision himself wearing his everyday jeans and zip-up hoodie, and personally presided over the Q&A and engaged in communication with fellow executives and employees.

Specifically, “We must make ‘value’ our top-priority DNA to provide excellent value to customers and shareholders, have a positive impact on the future of humanity through our activities, and bring about happiness for our entire HS Hyosung family.” and emphasized, “HS Hyosung will undertake ‘value management’ by prioritizing mutual growth and value enhancement for all stakeholders, including shareholders, customers, HS Hyosung family, partners, and local communities.” In this context, “Value Together” was unveiled as HS Hyosung’s tagline.

Executives and employees who attended the town hall meeting also responded with high regard to Vice Chairman Cho's communication actions. Questions were asked about various topics such as the company's vision, personnel system, and corporate culture at business sites worldwide, and their expectations were relayed with comments like "He clearly conveyed the corporate direction of value management with his usual sense of humor," and "The company will improve in a positive direction."

HS Hyosung plans to continue town hall meetings on a regular basis with ‘Season 2’ and ‘Season 3’, and plan to expand various communication channels by launching communication platforms such as “Culinary/Foodie Tours, I’m Buying!”, including social contribution activities to enable informal communication between management and employees.

<Accelerating social value through social contribution activities following communication>

HS Hyosung doesn’t cease at communicating with its employees but continues its warm-hearted compassion for the socially underprivileged through volunteer service.

On the 28th last month, Vice Chairman Hyun-sang Cho, HS Hyosung Sharing Volunteer Group leader, and about 30 executives and employees from HS Hyosung, HS Hyosung Advanced Materials, HS Hyosung Information System, and HS Hyosung The Class visited Korea's first smart farm for people with disabilities, 'Purme Social Farm', located in Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do.

Purme Social Farm is a state-of-the-art smart farm operated by the Purme Foundation (Executive CEO Kyeong-hak Baek) to support young people with developmental disabilities to work in a good environment, receive fair wages, and become independent. HS Hyosung executives and employees work with young people with developmental disabilities to harvest crops such as tomatoes, and helped with processing and packaging for them to be commercialized. Hyosung has partnered with the Purme Foundation for 12 years since 2013, supporting rehabilitation treatment costs for children with disabilities from low-income families and psychological treatment costs for alienated non-disabled siblings.

Vice Chairman Cho said, “It is very meaningful to commence HS Hyosung’s first external event selflessly for others rather than for ourselves.” He is the head of the Hyosung Group Sharing Volunteer Group and has been undertaking various social contribution activities, stressing ‘creating warm-hearted and healthy values.’
