Hyosung Heavy Industries leading Chairman Cho Hyun-joon Showcases Future Grid Solutions at CIGRE 2026

Hyosung Heavy Industries, led by Chairman Cho Hyun-joon, is showcasing its solutions for the future power grid at CIGRE 2026.

Hyosung Heavy Industries announced on Aug. 25 that it is participating in the CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric Systems) Paris Session 2026, being held in Paris, France, from Aug. 24 to 28 (local time).

The CIGRE Paris Session is the world’s largest power engineering conference and exhibition, bringing together more than 10,000 power industry experts and top-tier global companies from over 100 countries to discuss technical standards and the future of the power industry.

At CIGRE 2026, Hyosung Heavy Industries is showcasing a total solution portfolio encompassing next-generation power technologies, ranging from HVDC systems for long-distance, high-capacity power transmission to solid-state transformers (SSTs) for DC power distribution in data centers. In particular, the company is unveiling its proprietary 420kV SF₆-free GIS (gas-insulated switchgear) for the first time, highlighting its carbon-reduction technologies in the European market, where carbon neutrality is a key priority.

Hyosung Heavy Industries is also showcasing △its proprietary VSC HVDC (Voltage Source Converter High-Voltage Direct Current) system, which is gaining traction worldwide △SST (Solid-State Transformer), a core power solution for data centers that the company developed as the world’s first in 2022 △eco-friendly ester-filled transformers that reduce environmental impact through the use of biodegradable insulating oil △ARMOUR+, an AI-based power facility asset management platform.

In addition, on Aug. 26, Hyosung Heavy Industries will host the “Future Grid Insight Forum,” a technical forum for major global customers. First launched in 2022, the forum is being held for the third time this year under the theme, “Grid Transformation and Challenges: Expansion, Sustainability, and Resilience.” Power industry experts from the U.S., Europe and Australia will participate as panelists and share insights on how to respond to the surge in power demand and operate the power grids of the future.

Meanwhile, on Aug. 25, Hyosung Heavy Industries will host the “Hyosung Day Gala Dinner,” inviting key global customers from 35 companies across 18 countries. Through the event, the company will exchange views on changes in the global power market and key industry issues, strengthen relationships with customers, and further solidify partnerships for expanded mid- to long-term business cooperation.

Hyosung Heavy Industries continues to deliver strong performance, driven by robust global sales. In the second quarter of this year, the company recorded revenue of KRW 1.687 trillion and operating profit of KRW 264.3 billion, representing year-on-year increases of 10.6% and 60.9%, respectively. New orders in the first half of the year reached KRW 7.4987 trillion, approaching last year’s full-year order intake. The company also raised its annual order target from KRW 8.4 trillion to KRW 12 trillion.
