Hyosung conducted on March 19 a volunteer activity to share ‘Side Dishes of Love’ in support of underprivileged residents at the Korean Red Cross Mapo Volunteer Center in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

That day, Hyosung employees personally prepared and packaged a variety of side dishes such as spicy stir-fried pork, pumpkin pancakes, and nabak kimchi and delivered them to underprivileged residents of the local community.

The ‘Side Dishes of Love’ program is a corporate social contribution initiative that has been maintained by Hyosung for 21 years since 2005 in partnership with the Korean Red Cross. Hyosung prepares side dishes once a week and delivers them to underprivileged residents in Mapo-gu including the elderly, children and youth, and migrant residents to help prevent meal insecurity and promote balanced nutrition.

Hyosung also strives to relieve emotional alienation among underprivileged residents by providing special meals such as ginseng chicken soup, red bean porridge, and sliced rice cake soup during national holidays and seasonal occasions including winter solstice and Daeboreum (first full-moon day). Korean Red Cross volunteers provide emotional and psychological support through regular home visits while continuously monitoring the living conditions of beneficiaries.

Hyosung Chairman Cho Hyun-joon has consistently emphasized that a company’s responsibility goes beyond profit and lies in growing together with neighbors. "We will continue to support the local community in maintaining a healthy daily life,” he added.
