Hyosung announced on June 11th that the company would actively promote expanding smart plants of partners as a part of ‘Industrial Innovative Campaign’ governed by Ministry of Industry, Trade & Energy, and increase the scale of support at least 3 times this year.
Hyosung participated in the ‘Smart Plant Advancing Event’ held on June 11th at the Korea Chamber of Commerce under the supervision of Ministry of Industry, Trade & Energy and announced that the company would largely expand the scale of support to smart plants of partners from 5 plants in 2014 to more than 15 plants in 2015.
‘Smart Plant’ refers to a plant which combines ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) in the processes of design, production and sales for production efficiency and quality improvement. Hyosung’s main products in the Power & Industrial Systems such as the transformer, circuit breaker and electric motor have big or complicated parts and so partners have had difficulties in quality inspection (measurement). To solve this problem, Hyosung has provided partners wireless electronic measurement devices and quality control systems loaded with ICT technology to restructure their plants to ‘smart plants’ suitable for small quantity batch production of large size products.
Wireless electronic measurement devices Hyosung provided have better precision and are more portable than previous devices, and can improve measurement speed by transmitting the measured values to main computer through wireless communication, and also improve workers’ safety. Also, helping prevention of or solving quality problems through analysis and real time monitoring of test results, these devices eventually create win-win effect by enhancing global competitiveness of the final products supplied by Hyosung to client companies.
As for this, Hyosung’s Director of Strategic Headquarters Cho Hyun-joon (President) said, “We will strengthen not only smart plant but also the Win-Win Growth Hyosung promotes in all business areas to contribute to vitalization of creative economy.”
In the meantime, besides supporting smart plants of partners, Hyosung is promoting various Win-Win Growth activities such as developing overseas markets for small businesses of Jeonbuk area in association with Jeonbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center, holding creora workshops for spandex client companies, and secure of stable sales for partners through operation of Integrated Procurement Office in the Construction Sector.
