Hyosung, Participate in inaugural “Textiles India 2017” as the global textile leader

    From June 30th to July 2nd, Hyosung attended the inaugural “Textiles India 2017” held in Gujarat, India.

    Textile India is the first textile exhibition to be held in India. Hyosung decided to attend this event upon the request from Rashmi Verma (the Secretary in Ministry of Textiles at the time) during her visit back in May.

    From yarns of spandex, nylon and polyester to automotive/commercial carpets, carbon fiber and aramid, Hyosung introduced varieties of clothing and industrial textiles to the Indian market in the largest exhibition booth of the event.

    Hyosung had an exclusive time to introduce its high performing functional products during the Korean session held on July 1st.

    Hyosung introduced yarn products from the world’s No. 1 spandex brand creora®, including: Fit2, a product providing elasticity in both horizontal and vertical directions of denim textiles; Fresh, an anti-odor spandex product; Color+, a product enhancing the original color. Hyosung also displayed nylon and polyester products such as Aqua-x, a fabric providing a fresh feel, and Cotna, a combination of the functionality of chemical fibers and the touch of natural cotton.

    Hyosung’s next generation carbon fiber TANSOME®, and suber aramid fabric ALKEX® are also ones of products which drew the industry’s attention. Buyers were provided with the opportunity to actually see and feel the light-weighted, strong features only available by Hyosung, in actual sample products of wire cores for CNG high pressure containers made from carbon fiber, and bullet proof vests and helmets made from aramid.

    India, with a population over 1.3 billion, has a GDP of 2,454. billion dollars (as of April 2017, IMF), and is marking an annual economic growth of 7% while the remandment of the world is only achieving a lingering annual growth of 2%.

    The working age population (15 to 64 years old) of india is around 850 million, consisting 66% of the total Indian population, enlightening the future economic growth. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking his office in 2014, India is seeking industrial growth under ‘Modinomix’, while the Prime Minister himself made the opening address of the event, to express the government’s will in developing the overal industry including the textile industry.

    Since entering the Indian market in 2007, by opening a satellite office in New Deli, Hyosung promoted the satelite office as an official branch office to administrate operations in the India market.

    Hyosung has accelerated its efforts in the Indian market by establishing Hyosung T&D India Pvt., Ltd. in the Pune region of India to locally produce circuit breakers. Hyosung has achieved incomes over 300 million dollars in the textile, industrial material and heavy industry operations in India.
