Hyosung has been selected as a final bidder for Korea Electric Power Cooperation’s (KEPCO) electric vehicle (EV) sharing project aimed at installing power chargers for electric vehicles. The EV Sharing is part of KEPCO’s car sharing project, which allows users to rent an electric car and charge it nearby according to their need.
The charging system offers diverse functions including providing information on the use of power charger facilities and emergency rescue services for vehicle breakdown, coupled with charging for electric vehicles. The system will be unmanned. Our company will provide remote monitoring, maintenance and regular inspection of the facilities. Hyosung developed charging systems for electric cars for the first time in 2010, and since then has provided more than 120 charging systems to government agencies across the nation, including the Jeju Smart Grid demonstration complex. However, this is the first time for the company to provide these charging systems for the use of ordinary citizens.
In this business project, Hyosung will supply a total of 26 charging systems including four rapid charging systems and 22 slow charging systems.
