Hyosung TNC's vision of sustainable management is encapsulated in the company's brand vision of "Innovation for a Better Lifestyle & Tomorrow". As a chemical fiber materials company, Hyosung TNC prioritizes environmental values due to the nature of its business and has a unique sense of mission in responding to the climate crisis. Developing recycled products through resource recycling to improve quality and present products with minimal environmental impact is an important mission for Hyosung TNC.

‘regen’ is the flagship brand for solutions that embody the core values of Hyosung TNC's sustainable management. regen includes recycled material-based products such as regen Polyester fiber made from recycled PET bottles and regen Ocean Nylon fiber made from recycled fishing nets that harm marine ecosystems, as well as regen Bio Spandex fiber made from plant-based materials such as Sugarcane and corn. The brand's recycled fibers significantly reduce CO2 emissions compared to conventional manufacturing processes. In addition, Bio-Based Spandex has a much smaller carbon footprint than traditional fibers made from fossil fuels.


Hyosung TNC employees also practice the values of sustainable management, epitomized by 'environmental awareness', in their daily lives. For example, since 2021, they have been actively participating in the 'Personal Cup Use Campaign' in the office, which encourages the use of mugs instead of disposable cups. Participants have commented that although it's a small action, they feel fulfilled knowing they are making a difference to the environment, and that this corporate practice has influenced them to always carry a mug in their personal lives.

In addition, employees participate in the 'regen Recycling Campaign', which involves the collection of PET bottles they use on a daily basis. PET bottle collection bins have been installed at Hyosung TNC sites nationwide. Employees who collect and deposit PET bottles in these bins are rewarded with fashion items made from Hyosung TNC's eco-friendly recycled fibers. This campaign enables employees to directly contribute to Hyosung TNC's ESG management and promotes the internalization of ESG management awareness among employees. In addition, the campaign also has significance in the practice of co-prosperity management by selecting products from partner brands that use Hyosung TNC's regen yarns as gifts, adding another layer of meaning to the initiative.


The regen Recycling Campaign, launched in 2022, is now in its third year of implementation in 2024. Looking at the status in 2023, a total of 22,425 used PET bottles were collected through employee participation. Based on the collection performance in 2023 and calculated through a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the carbon reduction effect is equivalent to the amount of CO2 absorbed by approximately 94 30-year-old pine trees over a year.

Through these initiatives, Hyosung TNC produces regenerated regen Ocean Nylon fibers by recycling marine waste such as discarded fishing nets and PET bottles.
