Hyosung TNC selects Hyosung Advanced Materials and Rural ESG practices recognized company

Hyosung TNC and Hyosung Advanced Materials were selected as companies recognized as "2023 Rural ESG Practice Recognition System" at the "2023 Rural ESG Awards" held on the 18th and won recognition plaques from the Korea Foundation for Large, Small and Medium Business, and Agricultural Cooperation.

In addition, Park Jong-ho, PL, Hyosung, and Yoo Young-min, PM of Hyosung Advanced Materials, were selected for the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries' commendation in the Rural Win-Win Cooperation Fund's Merit Award category.

The Korea Foundation for Large, Small and Medium Business, and Agriculture Cooperation has selected companies and institutions that have excelled in promoting win-win cooperation activities with farming and fishing villages every year as "Rural and Fishing Village ESG Practice Recognized Companies." The award is the result of Hyosung Group's efforts to carry out various ESG activities by contributing to the Win-Win Cooperation Fund for farming and fishing villages every year.

Hyosung Group is promoting the Jalpi Forest Conservation Activity Project with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Korea Fisheries Resources Corporation to reduce carbon in the sea. Jalpi, a representative blue carbon that absorbs carbon, is a marine protected organism designated by the Marine Ecosystem Act.

In addition, Hyosung TNC is working with local governments such as Busan Metropolitan City and Jeollanam-do to promote a waste fishing net recycling project to recycle waste fishing nets to create My Pan Regeneration, a nylon fiber. In addition, POSCO and Yeosu Gwangyang Port Corporation are taking the lead in resource circulation by recycling waste fishing nets and waste pet bottles in the Gwangyang Bay area with Regen fiber.

In connection with Jeonju City and the National Institute of Ecology, Hyosung Advanced Materials is carrying out a project to restore the endangered species 'Jeonju Water Tail Pool'. In addition, ecological disturbance species in Yubu Island, Seocheon-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, were removed and a wheat plant garden was created using endangered wild plants. In addition, by supporting the installation of fences in farms in Yangyang and Uljin, they protected the endangered class I of mountains and prevented damage to farms.

In addition, Hyosung Group is promoting various win-win activities in rural areas, including donating products using eco-friendly materials, carbon fiber agricultural dryers and solar power generators to rural areas.
