More than 80 employees/families of Changwon Factory of Hyosung Heavy Industries carried out an activity for wetland preservation in Tteunneup Wetland in Wolchon-ri, Gunbuk-myeon, Haman-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do on October 21.

The voluntary activity was part of the activities carried out by Hyosung Heavy Industries for climate change management. On the morning of that day, the group built a rest area in the wetland. In the afternoon, an ecology docent gave a lecture on wetland and helped them have a first-hand experience of the wetland. Said event was arranged with the support of the Haman-gun Office, Gyeongnam Voluntary Service Center, and RAMSAR Foundation.

“We found it a useful experience in wetlands and came to realize once again the importance of preserving wetlands,” said an employee of the Company who took part in the event.

Hyosung Heavy Industries is striving to build a sustainable society through adequate management of climate changes, engaging in biodiversity activities and development of eco-friendly transformers and gas-insulated switchgears, etc. In 2022, the Company acquired an “A” grade in CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project). It has also started a project for voluntary activity for cleaning rainwater pipes leading to the sea as part of the effort to cope with problems related to climate changes and ocean pollution.
