Employees of HYOSUNG provided kimchi (10 kg of kimchi each to 1,500 households) to less-privileged neighbors on December 6 in Mapo-gu, Seoul, where its headquarters is located, including fund designed to help them stay warmer in winter, as part of its year-end love-thy-neighbor activities.
The Company has engaged in such humanitarian activities for 17 years since 2007. The number of households that have enjoyed such benefit provided by HYOSUNG comes to 22,500-plus.
HYOSUNG makes it a point to purchase such kimchi through Jung-gu Senior Club in Ulsan, an institution designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) for the promotion of jobs for senior citizens, in an effort to enhance seniors’ welfare.
That day, HYOSUNG also donated 40 million won to be spent on helping less-privileged locals stay warm in winter and pay their medical/living expenses.
On December 5, the Company provided five hundred 20kg-bags of rice to help less-privileged locals. HYOSUNG makes it a point to purchase such rice from Gunbuk Agricultural Cooperative in Haman-gun, Gyeongnam—with which it maintains sisterly ties—in an effort to help rice farming households sell their products more easily and help locals get good-quality rice.
HYOSUNG engages in an array of social contribution activities for less-privileged locals under the slogan of “We will share others’ difficulties.” The Company is set to deliver 400 sets of daily necessities such as instant beef porridge, etc. to less-privileged locals in Ahyeon-dong, Seoul on December 18.
