Hyosung paid a visit to the ROK Army HQ in Gyeryong-si, Chungnam on May 16 and donated 100 million won.
Hyosung expressed its wish for the donation to be spent on improving the residential environment of 10 veterans′ families and paying monthly rents for 100-plus families′ houses. Three families of Thai veterans who fought for the ROK during the Korean War will also be beneficiaries of the donation in connection with the 65th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Hyosung′s donation in 2022 was spent for the families of a total of nine veterans who fought during the Korean War and the Vietnamese War including the families of two Mexican veterans who fought during the Korean War and 95 families living in rental houses.
Hyosung has provided such support since 2012 to express gratitude for the sacrifices made by war veterans. Said project, carried out with the participation of the private/public sectors and the military led by the ROK Army HQ, involves renovating war veterans′ dilapidated houses and paying monthly rents for those in a financially difficult situation for two years.
Hyosung engages in social contribution activities focusing on provision of support for the less privileged, culture/art events, and war veterans under the slogan ″We will be with you through sharing.″ On May 24, Hyosung employees will pay a visit to the Seoul National Cemetery and clean the area on the occasion of May being designated as the month for war veterans.
