Role of Hyosung Chemical, Advanced Materials Recognized as Businesses Providing Support for the Conservation of Endangered Species
Hyosung Chemical and Hyosung Advanced Materials have been recognized as businesses providing support for the conservation of endangered species by NIE, which is under the Ministry of Environment.
The two Hyosung affiliates received a recognition letter and a plaque from NIE concerning the support they provided for the conservation of endangered wild animals/plants at the event commemorating the third Day of Endangered Species held at the zoo of Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon on March 31.
The system for recognition of businesses′ support provided for the conservation of endangered species was first adopted last year.
Hyosung Chemical′s feat for the conservation of endangered species—carried out in 2022 as part of Animal Behavioral Enrichment activities together with Cheongju Zoo, an institution for wild species conservation outside their habitats—was duly recognized. Hyosung Chemical employees took part in the production of special animal food designed to preserve wild animals like Asiatic Black Bears and Himalayan tahrs and increase their activeness.
The role of Hyosung Advanced Materials in the program for contribution to the restoration of habitats of the endangered Jeonju Dysophylla yatabeana Makino was recognized. Said plant is endangered species Gr-2. Hyosung Advanced Materials built a ground for growing said plant in Jeonju Giraffe Park, which is close to one of its factories, and provided 2,000 speedwells.
Hyosung Chemical and Hyosung Advanced Materials engage in a variety of activities for the conservation of biodiversity including the removal of harmful plants and cleaning beaches allocated to them. Not only that—they strive to build a healthy ecosystem for future generations while formulating biodiversity policies for a sustainable ecosystem and encouraging employees to enhance their relevant awareness.
