Hyosung presented the pet robot Pibo on August 18 to ten seniors of national merit through the Nambu, Seoul branch of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA).
Said robot is designed to provide information on weather and news to users and help them manage their health on a daily basis including measuring body temperature and cardiac impulse, reminding them of the time for taking medications, and providing first aid in an emergency. It also checks the user′s state of mental health through dialogues, checks the overall situation surrounding the user, and provides emotional consolation by singing songs or taking photos. Hyosung will continue to provide more Pibos to seniors of national merit to prevent them from feeling alienated particularly in the midst of COVID-19.
In 2021, Hyosung received a prize from MPVA for providing AI robots to take care of elderly people of national merit.
Hyosung has carried out a program of arranging for persons of national merit to pay visits to historic sites and providing daily necessities to them in cooperation with the Nambu, Seoul branch of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA) as part of its social contribution activities. Last July, it presented samgyetang (chicken soup with ginseng) to them.
