Hyosung ITX, advancement to the ‘National Disaster Net Project’ in alliance with Nokia
□ Hyosung ITX, signed MOU on the ‘National Disaster Net Project’ with Nokia
Hyosung ITX (Representative Nam Kyeong-hwan), a Hyosung’s subsidiary specialized in IT cloud, will participate in the government project to build the world’s first LTE-base National Disaster Safe Communication Net, in alliance with the global communication equipment company Nokia.
Hyosung ITX announced on June 1st that the company signed MOU with Nokia for providing stable cloud and IT infrastructure required for a disaster control system to the base station communication equipment supplied by Nokia in conformity with the National Disaster Net Standards and supporting their maintenance and operation.
The National Disaster Safe Communication Net project is a project of National Safety & Disaster Service which collects, in a lump, the currently dispersed communication networks of such disaster control institutions as police, fire fighting and medical and builds the LTE-base ‘wireless communication network’. National Safety & Disaster Service will be equipped with the system which can guarantee nation’s safety from such disasters as heavy rain, typhoon, earthquake, large scale accidents and diagnose and prevent various disasters in advance.
□ Hyosung ITX, in possession of cloud system patents for distributed processing of data
For the National Disaster Net, a cloud system is definitely required for quick storage and analysis of the mass data created by such control systems as CCTV, weather and marine observation. In particular, data should be protected and services and ICT infrastructure should quickly be restored when a disaster occurs and all communication networks are destroyed. Hence, IT solution companies possessing system operation knowhow and technologies to handle this are definitely required.
Hyosung ITX is in possession of the capability to build the system which can collect and analyze the location-base information and make stable and quick transmission of the information under emergency based on the cloud distribution processing system patented in 2013 for the first time in Korea.
Furthermore, the company possesses the network which can provide in a lump such solutions necessary for the overall disaster control system as fire surveillance solution and video transmission technology through cooperation with wireless network specialized companies.
Along with this, it is possible to provide the internet of things service which can comprehensively handle the data created through the disaster net utilizing Hyosung ITX’s CDN (Contents Delivery Network; a system which stores data in the distributed servers and deliver the data to users for effective delivery of game clients or contents) technology and maintenance organization.
□ Representative Director Nam Kyeong-hwan, “We will build the highest level of disaster net and advance to global projects”
Representative Director Nam Kyeong-hwan said, “National Disaster Net project is a project where Hyosung ITX can show all the capabilities and technologies it has accumulated so far in the cloud and IT area at a time,” and, “We plan to realize the highest level of disaster safe net which will attract attention of the whole world in collaboration with Nokia and, based on this, will try to advance to global national disaster net projects.”
As such advanced countries as US and UK in the world are making disaster net plans in the LTE type, such global communication equipment companies as Nokia or Huawei are making full-scale participations in the disaster net market.
In the mean time, Hyosung ITX revealed its intention to strengthen the internet of things business last year, as Hyosung’s Head of the IC PG Cho Hyun-joon (President) established an R&D center covering cloud and internet of things. Along with this, the company obtained such orders as cloud building project in the government integrated computing center and smart school cloud building project in Hanmin High School, and are successfully operating them.
