Hyosung, introduces cutting-edge materials including carbon fiber in the '2015 Creative Economy Expo'
Hyosung announced that the company would participate in the 「2015 Creative Economy Expo」 to be held at Coex, Seoul for 4 days from 26th to 29th, to massively introduce the products making use of carbon fiber and polyketone which are cutting-edge materials developed by Hyosung's own independent technologies.
Participating in the Creative Economy Expo third time in a row since the past 2013, Hyosung made its exhibition booth under the subject of “Cutting-edge materials creating future values of mankind”.
Vice Chairman Lee Sang-woon said, “We want to be a good example of realizing creative economy through technological innovation, by introducing the products making use of the cutting-edge materials developed by Hyosung's own technologies so that people can easily understandthe products,” and “Hyosung will be the company which helps people's safety and convenience in a daily life and creates future values”.
The carbon fiber developed by Hyosung's own independent technology is 10 times as strong as steel, in spite of being lighter than steel by more than 1/4. Hence, it can be applied to diverse industrial fields. In this exhibition, Hyosung will introduce carbon fibe applications in the 3 fields of ▲ industry/vehicle ▲ medical ▲ life/office.
In the vehicle/industry field, vehicles with the carbon fiber body, brake discs, bus fuel tank and heating chairs are introduced. In the medical field, wheel chairs and sport prosthetic legs are introduced, and in the life/office field, travel carriers, electric guitars and notebooks are introduced to fully show such features of carbon fiber as being safe, light and strong.
In addition, the applications of polyketon, which is an environment-friendly macromolecular new material developed by Hyosung after 10 year R&D, were determined to be exhibited to emphasize that Hyosung is a leading company of material revolution. Being much better than the previous engineering plastics in chemical properties and strength, polyketone has been selected as one of top 10 national projects for the Material Technology Program organized by Ministry of Industry, Trade & Energy, since 2010. Polyketone is widely used in diverse fields just like carbon fiber. Not only being used for vehicles, for example for vehicle wheels, it exhibits the highest performance for electronic products gear because of its superb abrasion-resistance.
