Hyosung Changwon Plant, Earned highest ratings for its Win-Win Cooperation program from KOSHA

    Hyosung Changwon Plant announced that it received the highest ratings from KOSHA’s (Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency) Win-Win Cooperation program evaluation.

    Occupational safety & health win-win program has been implemented since 2012 to improve working environments and prevent industrial accidents through risk assessments of subsidiaries and affiliates and support to occupational safety & health training thereof.

    Achieving the best ratings is the by-product of Hyosung’s comprehensive dedication to occupational safety & health. Based on the win-win management, Hyosung consistently efforts to improve working environments, with its outcome of zero industrial accidents in any of all domestic subsidiaries and affiliates.

    Along with occupational safety & health technical support, throughout 2016, Hyosung conducted intensive on-spot safety audits on subsidiaries and affiliates focusing on high-risk works and high-place works such as vessel rolling and painting. Through these audits, a total number of 532 risk factors were identified and improvement plans were established and implemented for each risk factor. A total of 65 subsidiaries and affiliates of Hyosung were recognized as outstanding risk evaluation work places.

    Hyosung invested over 1 billion KRW, to improve the work process of its subsidiaries and affiliates in means of expanding work booths and installing ventilation facilities. Hyosung earned its reputation to establish a solid system of self-safety management which regulates daily safety meetings, enhanced permits to work and implementing stringent supervision.

    Subsidiaries and affiliates recognized as outstanding risk evaluation work places were awarded with a 20% deduction in their industrial accident compensation insurance premium for three years, along with other benefits including a one year exemption from safety supervision, preferential consideration for governmental awards, and additional educational and tutorial materials from KOSHA.

    An official of Hyosung Changwon Plant said, “This year, we will continue to enhance the capacity of the safety management supervisors of our subsidiaries and affiliates. We will also expand occupational health & safety technical support and the safety culture to work places with no safety evaluation certificates, and continue our track record of no hazards.”
