Hyosung, warm accompanying mentally retarded students for 9 years

    The fact that about 1,900 executives and staffs of Hyosung Power & Industrial Systems PG have been doing ‘warm accompanying’ helping hiking and field study of mentally retarded students of Seoul Jeongmun School specialized in mental retardation, in a total of 80 times for 9 years since 2007, is catching people’s view

    On the past April 17th, in the Week of the Disabled, 30 executives and staffs of Hyosung did the sharing activity helping hiking of Seoul Jeongmun School students in Mt. Samseoung located in Kwanak-gu of Seoul. This hiking was planned to raise basic physical strength of mentally retarded students who easily lose strength due to infrequent outdoor activity. On the coming 22nd, they will also go out to support field study of those students in Everland planned for improvement of their social adaptability.

    Section Chief Kim Tae-hwan of Heavy Industry Research Institute, in the Hyosung Power & Industrial Systems PG, who participated in this hiking said, “It was really good to be able to learn the philosophy of living together with neighbors who need help through the sharing activity for Seoul Jeongmun School,” and “I wish the disabled students will grow to be light-hearted and healthy members of this society through hiking and field study.”

    Beginning with this Mt. Samseong hiking assistance, Hyosung Power & Industrial Systems PG will accompany in a total of 6 hikings this year, and in each quarter will also support field study in an amusement park, cultural performance, or job experience.

    Head of Strategic Headquarters (President) Cho Hyun-joon who is in charge of Hyosung’s social contributions said, “Accompanying the retarded students for 9 years has been the sharing activity made by voluntary involvement of executives and staffs of Hyosung Power & Industrial Systems PG,” and “We will take an active lead in making warm society through consistent supports.”

    On the other hand, Hyosung’s IT-specialized subsidiary Hyosung ITX received the Award by Head of Yeongdungpo-gu as recognition of its contributions to job creation and supports for the disabled, in the ceremony of ‘Yeongdungpo Day of the Disabled’ held in the Yeongdungpo Art Hall on 21st.
