Hyosung, received the grand prize of the science & technology research in the Jeong Jin-ki Press Culture Award

Hyosung announced that the company received the grand prize of science & technology research at the presentation ceremony of the 34th Jeong Jin-ki Press Culture Award held on 12th at the Maekyung Media Center in Pil-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.

Every year, Jeong Jin-ki Press Culture Foundation discovers the individuals or organizations that contributed to national economy and industrial development through creative science & technology research or writing on economy & business, and presents this Award to them.

Hyosung received the honor of grand prize in the science & technology research part for the service of nurturing such textile products as ‘spandex’ and ‘tire cord’ to world No.1 goods.

Hyosung developed ‘spandex’ called the ‘semi-conductor of textile’ for the first time in Korea by its independent technology and is now invading the world market after building global production bases in China, Vietnam, Turkey and Brazil. Also, possessing its own production technology of ‘tire cord’ used as a tire reinforcing material, Hyosung is making a strategic alliance with global tire makers to strengthen control over the world market.

President Cho Hyun-joon of Hyosung that received the grand prize on this day said, “This award is the result of technology-oriented management that has continued since the previous chairman Cho Hong-je until the present chairman Cho Seok-rae and commitments of employees,” and, “we will contribute to national economy by cultivating Hyosung to a world top-class company through development of cutting-edge materials and convergence of newest ICT technologies.”
