Hyosung held the ceremony for the Korean War veterans and their families on 24th (local time) at the Redstone Arsenal located in Huntsville, Alabama.
Hyosung’s US local corporation Hyosung USA holds the event, every year since 2013, to pay tribute to sacrifices of the Korean War veterans who tried to defend Republic of Korea.
Alabama State where Hyosung’s workplace is located is the place many Korean War veterans are living and, at this year’s event, 75 veterans and their 220 family members, army lieutenant general Larry Wyche, former Commander of the Eighth US Army Den Petrosky and Alabama State Senator Bill Holtzclaw attended.
Particularly this year, the event was more meaningful as Hyosung USA’s Division Head Terry Swanner attended with his parents and his father Charles Swanner was also a Korean War veteran.
Division Head Terry Swanner said, “Hyosung thanks and pays respect to the Korean War veterans and their families who sacrificed much for freedom and peace,” and, “Hyosung is doing various support programs not only for war veterans but also for Korean soldiers, and will continue to take a lead in memorial activities.”
On the other hand, on the occasion of 60th anniversary of the Korean War in 2010, Hyosung sponsored an invitational event for Korean War veterans of Luxembourg, and continues to support, since 2012, the ‘Patriots Home’ project that renovates old and worn housings jointly with Army.
Besides, Hyosung made the 1 company – 1 grave section agreement with national cemeteries located near workplaces in 2014 and since then management and employees regularly do cleaning of the grave sections, and also do other various memorial social contributions.
