Hyosung, Giving ‘Junior Engineering Class’ as the basis for cultivating future scientific talents
Hyosung announced on 1st that the company gave the ‘Junior Engineering Class’ on the past 30th for students of Nae-dong Elementary School in Changwon as a spring semester event
Junior Engineering Class is an educational donation given twice a year by Hyosung so that elementary school students may attain interests in science and study or get a job in science and engineering in the future, and executives and staffs of Changwon Plant give lectures by themselves on the ‘Interesting and Easily Understandable Scientific Principles’
In this Junior Engineering Class, students learnt scientific principles hiding in daily life such as ‘Safe Car which stops by itself when confronted by obstacles’ and ‘Wind Power Engineering Story’, based on the textbooks developed by Hyosung over a period of about 5 months, and made models themselves in the practice hour
Head of Strategic Headquarters, Cho Hyun-joon (President) said, “I hope that they will be able to grow as technological manpower to create competitiveness of future industries by raising their talents and aptitude in science from the early ages,” and “Hyosung will never save efforts to form such eco system, besides the Junior Engineering Class, that interests in science can emerge as economic value.”
In fact, interests in and positive response to the Junior Engineering Class by students, teachers and parents are in relay and, from this autumn semester, this Class will be given to more schools in association with Changwon Education Office
In the meantime, Hyosung Changwon Plant has been doing sharing activity for educational development of local community such as support to book reading coaching class for parents of elementary and middle school students in the Changwon area, donation of mini libraries to elementary schools in the region, and support to Youth Literary Journey.
