Hyosung, will receive the Minister of Planning & Investment Award at the 'Vietnam CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Awards Ceremony'
Hyosung announced on 18th that the company will receive the Minister of Planning & Investment Award at the 'Vietnam CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Awards Ceremony' to be held at Hotel Hyatt in Ho Chi Minh City.
This event is an awards ceremony organized by Korean Ministry of Industry, Trade & Energy and Vietnamese Ministry of Planning & Investment and held by KOTRA. This was prepared to encourage such Korean companies in Vietnam that did good social responsibility management.
Since 2011, Hyosung has dispatched the abroad medical volunteer corps ‘Smile Expedition’ every year to the Ho Chi Minh City area where the Vietnam workplaces are located, to give free medical service for the regional residents and, since 2014, has invited those patients incurable by the local medical system to Korea for follow-up treatments.
Also, Hyosung recruits the college students global volunteer corps ‘Hyosung Blue Challengers’, who develop appropriate technology (technology made for consistent production and consumption in the corresponding region, with the social, cultural and environmental conditions taken into consideration) products, which will be helpful for life improvement, through volunteer and cultural exchange activities for the regional residents in a remote mountain village, and revisit Vietnam with the best appropriate technology product for distribution.
On the other hand, Hyosung established the Vietnam Division in 2007 at the Nhơn Trạch area of Dong Nai Province near Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and is producing spandex and tire cord, Hyosung’s No.1 market share products in the world. Vietnam Division has grown through continuous construction and expansion of production facilities to be such a main company in Vietnam that it occupies about 1% of the total export of Vietnam.
