Hyosung Group unveiled its plan to create 1,500 new jobs per year, in average, for 3 years until 2017, which means a total of 4,500 jobs, from Hyosung Co., Ltd. and 9 subsidiaries. This was determined at the Group level to actively participate in creative economy and economic vitalization through relief of the youth unemployment problem, which is nationally promoted, and to cultivate talented employees who will lead the bright future of Hyosung.
Hyosung Group has constantly made efforts to relieve employment cliff by completing creation of 1,065 new jobs, in this first half, compared to the first half of last year, and has actively taken an initiative in employment retention and creation of youth jobs through the salary peak system Government is promoting to introduce mainly for public institutions. Also, considering the characteristics of a chemical plant that it should be operated in 24 hour continuous processing, the 4-groups in 3 shifts system was introduced from July of this year to reduce labor hour so that labor workers may stably harmonize work and family life, which made the effect of creating 300 new jobs per year.
Mr. Lee Sang-woon Vice Chairman of Hyosung said, “I am sorry about the reality that outstanding capability of young generation cannot be fully used,” and emphasized as “Just as Hyosung has contributed to national economic vitalization through relentless technology development in several areas including textile and chemistry, nurturing such new growth engine industries as polyketone and carbon fiber in the future and giving job opportunities to talented people is another fulfilment of social responsibility, in my opinion.”
Also, reflecting the recent social atmosphere of expanded youth start-up, Hyosung will operate job creation project through supporting about 1,000 youth businessmen, focusing on the specialized high schools and Carbon Specialized Start-up Cultivation Center located at the Hyosung’s Jeonju Carbon Fiber Plant site. Hyosung opened the Jeonbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center in the past November, and has a plan to make a continuous contribution to vitalization of local economy by supporting foundation of 150 companies in such fields as carbon material, agricultural biology and cultural industry, until 2017, including constructing the Carbon Specialized Start-up Cultivation Center at a site within the Carbon Fiber Plant to cultivate about 20 strong but small companies intensively from the coming October.
Hyosung has also a plan to lower the barrier for job creation in the young generation through open recruitment. Hyosung Group eased the qualifications for hiring new employees so substantially that high school graduates and graduates-to-be can apply, and inessential items in the application form such as photo or family information have been deleted. Hyosung Group already adopted the blind interview and depths interview, about 10 years ago, to hire people good at real work above the specification.
Besides, Hyosung will establish the industry-academy cooperative relationship with colleges in the Jeonbuk area, support on-campus start-up companies and students’ start-up, and actively participate in the ‘Job Fair for 200,000+ Youths’ to provide job opportunities for youths through provision of employment information and consulting.
