Hyosung global volunteer corps Blue Challengers, 'working with sweat' in Vietnam

    Residents of the Chieu Nguyen village gave a series of gratitude greetings for the visit by Hyosung Blue Challenger.

    Hyosung’s college student global volunteer corps ‘Hyosung Blue Challengers’ are doing sharing activity through appropriate technology in Vietnam from 23rd. This volunteer activity will be progressed together with the international relief organization Food for the Hungry for 1 week until 29th

    Hyosung recruited the overseas volunteer corps from college students in Korea and selected 21 Blue Challengers. Hyosung Blue Challengers completed preparation for the local volunteer activity through the appropriate technology workshop held at the Hyosung Anyang Training Center from the past August 3rd to 5th.

    This time, Hyosung Blue Challengers visited the Jjieu Nguyen village of Nguyenvin county in the Cao Bang Province, Vietnam, a remote village in the mountains located 280 km from Vietnam’s Capital City Hanoi. Here, Hyosung Blue Challengers are doing various activities sharing communion such as distributing the appropriate technology products including blue stove and solar lantern and teaching how to use those products, installing wall and water pipeline for the Jjieu Nguyen middle school, educational volunteer activity and cultural exchange.

    Through this, Hyosung Blue Challengers will develop suitable appropriate technology products for the Jjieu Nguyen village, and distribute the product chosen as the best appropriate technology in the January of the next year.

    Mr. Cho Hyun-sang Head of the Hyosung Sharing Volunteer Corps (Vice President) who is in charge of Hyosung’s sharing and volunteer activities delivered the following encouraging message, “Hyosung Blue Challengers’ activity is a meaningful activity which provides appropriate technology products to overseas regions in need of help so that those regional communities may stand on their feet. Thank the members who worked hard, in spite of hot weather, to find out definitely necessary appropriate technologies for the regional residents of Vietnam.”

    In the meantime, not only the Blue Challenger activity, but also Hyosung has dispatched the overseas medical volunteer corps ‘Smile Expedition’ since 2011 to the Dong Nai region, near Ho Chi minh, where the Vietnam Division is located, and this year the Smile Expedition will provide free medical service to the regional residents in November and continue the beautiful connection.
