Hyosung, supported the vulnerable social group women’s employment promotion program
Hyosung announced on 18th that the Company had delivered 70 million Won to support the employment promotion program for economic independence and growth of the vulnerable social group women.
Hyosung has provided chances for changes of the vulnerable social group women such as female head of household, beneficiaries of national basic livelihood, North Korean defectors and marriage immigrants, jointly with Jongro Women Resources Development Center for 3 years since 2013 so that they may enter the society successfully through systematic vocational training.
Training courses are the education for foodservice experts and babysitters and this year, in relation to education, foodservice cook certificate and after school class guide certificate can be obtained. After finishing a total of 200 hour education course, those women receive 1:1 support from dedicated job counsellors for getting a job and the education course is totally free.
With the help of Hyosung, a total of 80 women received education so far and 67 women succeeded in getting a job.
Mr. Cho Hyun-sang Head of the Hyosung Sharing Volunteer Corps (Vice President) said, "It is social loss of opportunity cost for women to be limited in participating in economic activities due to child care, housekeeping or personal matters and not to be able to exhibit women’s unique delicate ability," and "I hope this women’s employment promotion program will be helpful, however small it may be, for the vulnerable social group women or job discontinued women to find suitable jobs and so to restore self-confidence and stand on their feet economically."
