The Changwon Plant hosted the “Junior Engineering Class” at Naedong Elementary School between October 8th and 18th. Deputy Section Head Kim Chan-woo of Power Systems PU Quality Inspection Team and seven other employees participated as one-day teachers, and had a class for 5th~6th graders. The subject of the class was magnetic levitation trains, which use the technology of electromagnets to levitate a train above a railway. Students were allowed to make a maglev train by using the principles of electromagnetism and learned the principles of maglev trains, which have drawn public attention due to the development of high-speed trains. The Changwon Plant has been receiving positive responses from students and schools by holding junior engineering classes consistently twice a year since 2004.
