Hyosung Good Springs PU Won Technology Award by the Membrane Society of Korea

Hyosung Good Springs Performance Unit, the company specializing in producing pumps and providing desalination plants, won the 2011 technology award from the Membrane Society of Korea, for its development of a highly effective model to commercialize desalination systems (hereafter Yeongheung Smart Desalination Plant).

The plant was part of the New Growth Engine Smart Project implemented by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy. The water desalination plant is a facility that is capable of churning out 2000 tons of fresh water a day by converting seawater into fresh water, at the Yeongheung Thermal Power Plant on Yeongheung Island in Incheon. With this state-of-the-art technology, Hyosung made a huge technical breakthrough by significantly reducing the land area needed for facilities, achieving high return rates and effectively reducing energy consumption as well as securing fouling reduction technology.
