Hyosung Goodsprings Wins a Citation from the Minister of Knowledge Economy

On November 23, Kim Hyeon-shik, Team Leader of Hyosung Goodsprings PU R&D Center, won a citation from the Minister of Knowledge Economy for his contribution for technological advancement for nuclear power generation as he succeeded in developing SI Pump (Safety Injection Pump) for Advanced Power Reactor-1400 (APR-1400). Since 1997, Kim has been conducting work in the development of safety class pumps for nuclear power plants, for which the industry had previously entirely resorted to imports, and, for the first time in the industry, thanks to his work, he played the decisive role in ensuring the successful operation of the nation’s nuclear power plants by installing independently developed pumps at the New Gori 5 and 6 plants in the southeastern Korean city of Ulsan.
