A group of seven guests including the director of the Qingdao Economic Development Zone Sun Hengqin and manager Huang Yingsheng visited the Mapo HQ on July 16. The purpose of their visit was to ensure and reflect requirements between the Tire & Industrial Reinforcements PU and Qingdao City Government concerning the operation of Hyosung Steel Cord (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. This visit by the Chinese municipal government officials served as an opportunity to strengthen friendly relations between Hyosung and Qingdao City. During the visit, Tire & Industrial Reinforcements PU President Kwon Ki-su asked for the Qingdao municipal government’s consistent cooperation and collaboration for stable operation of the Hyosung Qingdao plant. In response, the director of the Qingdao Economic Development Zone said, “I hope that Hyosung can consider our city as its growth base so that Hyosung and Qingdao can continue to mutually grow.” Hyosung established a steel cord plant in Qingdao in 2003, which serves as a major foothold in the steel cord business division in China.
