The Ulsan Plant Tire and Industrial Reinforcements PU, Technical Yarn PU, and Ulsan Plant Management Headquarters held a briefing session on the TOP project completion and awards. The TOP (Total Operational Performance) project is a comprehensive cost innovation activity to improve corporate finance and establish a sustainable management system, and has been implemented in the three stages of setting goals, problem-solving, and execution, from February 2011 to March 2012.
According to the encouragement of Cho Hyun-sang, head of the PG, that all employees should have unyielding challenging spirits to achieve the cost reduction goals, the Tire and Industrial Reinforcements PU and Technical Yarn PU struggled to achieve their goals but eventually exceeded them by 127% and 120%, respectively, resulting in practical cost reduction effects. The project completion session and awards ceremony was held to share performance results and present an award to a team with excellent achievement results as well as to a staff member who proposed an excellent idea.
Meanwhile, the Ulsan Plant Management Headquarters and Tire and Industrial Reinforcements PU also held a TOP Phase-2 Kick-off meeting on that day. In the kick-off meeting, which was initiated to improve profitability using the cost reduction tools of TOP Phase-1 amidst the worsening business environment, members shared information on the organization and schedule and vowed their resolve to accomplish the targets. Plant head Hwang Jeong-mo of Tire and Industrial Reinforcements PU encouraged the employees to make all-out efforts to achieve our management goals based on better ideas and performance results in the TOP Phase-2 so that we could maximally reduce costs, in his speech.
