Changwon Plant Holds Smoking Cessation Education and Meeting for Applicants of Smoking Cessation Fund

On February 5, Changwon Plant held the smoking cessation education and meeting for 74 applicants of smoking cessation fund in the auditorium of the main building of Changwon Plant 1. The fund is a program intended to encourage employees to quit smoking, refunding 2.5 times the accumulated amount when succeeded. Applicants were tested on whether they smoke or not by checking urinalysis and the degree of exposure to CO. They also received education for effective ways to quit smoking, and were given information on the upcoming schedule as well as the plans for operating the fund. “I decided to quit smoking as encouraged by my children who love their dad, even though I’ve been smoking for 30 years. Giving up smoking together with other group members will help develop the will,” said Han Young-jo of General Transformer Production Team Winding Wire Group. Safety Healthcare & Environment Team is planning to operate a mobile smoking cessation clinic from February 13 to provide continuous support to participants.
