On December 13, our company concluded an MOU in Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Government, Republic of Korea, with Chungcheongbuk-do on investment in the ‘Jincheon Jukhyeon Industrial Complex’, where we will additionally build a large-scale PET bottled beverage factory. To establish a factory for aseptic beverages, the sales of which have recently been increasing, at the 149,000㎡ (45,000 pyeong site) of the Jukhyeon Industrial Complex that will be created by Jincheon, Chungbuk, our company is planning to invest approximately KRW 60 billion until the first half of 2014, starting construction in the first half of next year when the industrial complex will be built. This factory establishment is promoted to deal with the increasing demand for aseptic products along with the increasing interest in food safety. Currently, our company is producing over 1.5 billion PET bottles a year, of which aseptic products (brand name Asepsys) make up over 15%.
Aseptic products are made from the system in which beverages are made in germ-free condition with cutting-edge facilities to perfectly and hygienically fill PET bottles with tea, grain drinks, and dairy drinks. Recently there has been an increasing demand, as the unique taste and aroma of tea and coffee are maintained by filling the drinks at room temperature. Hot sellers such as Kwang-Dong Corn Silk Tea, Woongjin Sky Barley, and Binggrae A Café La are produced in Asepsys.
Jincheon Jukhyeon Industrial Complex can expect the synergy effect with the current Gwanghyewon Plant, and can enjoy the benefit of the establishment of distribution network through people that can conveniently move to the capital are and major cities.
