In the final commentary, the general plant manager Cho Chun praised the efforts of the members of each TPM groups, urging the employees to make thorough preparation to bring tangible results. He said, “I express my gratitude for your engagement in TMP activities last year. Now, we have completed step 4 for self-conservation and will enter into the step 5 in the second quarter of the year. Although the process of step 5 will not be easy, we have to successfully complete the phase to achieve good results in our TMP activities. It has been 11 years for this Ulsan Plant to conduct the TMP activities. We have to take this project firmed rooted in the corporate culture through consistent participation from all employees.”
Meanwhile, senior advisor An Chang-bok of Korea Management Association Consultants stated in his comment that, “throughout the presentations made by the 6 groups, the lack of detailed explanation based on performance evaluation index management left much to be desired, although the management seemed to be systematic in content. It is time for us to shift our management focus from business facility to process. The phase 5 is the most important part in the TPM process. Although you may face some hardships during the process, I hope all of you join efforts to overcome difficulties and produce outstanding results.”
