Hyosung Blue Challengers go into action

2011.08.26

Hyosung Blue Challengers, a group of 32 undergraduate volunteers, visited Vietnam and Cambodia from August 19 to 26 in order to spread basic technologies necessary in the villages. They distributed and gave instructions on solar cells and solar lanterns to resolve issues with electricity, as well as water filters that make well waters safe in Vietnam. In Cambodia, they also built temporary incinerators to solve issues with garbage, and found methods to make charcoal for sale from by-products of local crops like sugar cane and corn. They also provided computer lessons and painted murals. Hyosung Blue Challengers will research other technologies that are customized to villages until next January, and hold a contest exhibit to present the results of the research.
