At the New Quality Convention 2007 held for two days from May 17, Hyosung R&DB Labs won the New Innovative Quality Award. At the convention hosted by the New Quality Forum, a number of debates were held concerning the aim of creative innovation. The award was presented to Hyosung for the growth potential and excellence of its PEN tire cord development technology.
PEN tire cords produced with the heat treatment technology is appraised to have excellent adhesiveness and HMLS (High Modulus Low Shrinkage) characteristics. Hyosung R&DB Labs won the Silver Medal for this technology at the NEWTECH Korea 2006 and became the first Korea tire cord manufacturer to win the ISO/TS 16949 certification.
