Sung Chang-mo inaugurated as first director of Hyosung R&DB Labs

    - Expected to speed up development of high value-added products
    Sung Chang-mo was inaugurated as the first director of the Hyosung R&DB Labs in a ceremony on September 11th. In the ceremony attended by all staff members at the institute, Sung said he will work to create an environment where staff members look forward to going to the office every Monday morning, as in the expression "Thank God it’s Monday!". He also said he will strive to establish a good research atmosphere focusing on "creativity" and "challenging spirit" to allow future-oriented research and development activities, in order to ensure that the Institute leads Hyosung's bid become a global player.
    In addition, he said he will ensure that technological research, and development for commercial production, which the conventional research institutes have been carrying out, go in parallel with design and technical marketing activities to prompt commercialization. He also called on staff members for their full support and cooperation to ensure that the Institute attains the primary goal of acquiring a "AAA" rating, which is its first phase goal, through the strategy of "Aggressiveness, Achievement & Admire and Awards."
    Sung earned his Masters of Science degree and Ph.D at Ohio State University and Lehigh University in the United States, respectively. He then served as professor at the University of Massachusetts and director of a high-tech material research institute, before serving as the President of Inje University recently. Sung's inauguration is expected to allow the Company to double its efforts in product development and commercialization.
