- Wins orders for 10 transformers, after winning 'Customer Purchase Value Award' recently
The Heavy Industry PG is ratcheting up its marketing drive targeting the U.S. power equipment market, which is the world's largest. The Company won orders for 10 ultra high voltage transformers of 525 kV (433MVA) from BPA (Bonneville Power Administration), a major federal power company based in the State of Washington. The transformers to be supplied will be used in power substations that transmit electricity generated by wind power plants that are under construction in U.S. northwest, including Washington and Oregon.
By winning the orders, the Company has proven its technical prowess and service quality once again in the U.S. electric power market. The Company won "The Best Bang for the Buck Award", which is awarded by Forest and Sullivan of the U.S., to a company that is deemed most noteworthy in price, quality and customer services in the field of heavy electric power equipment.
The U.S. electric power market will likely see exponential growth going forward, due to aging power supply lines, and a rise in power consumption, with expansion of power supply facilities and lines urgently required. In particular, the market is expected to expand sharply, with AEP (America Electric Power), the largest U.S. power company, eyeing $900 million in new investments by 2011.
