    - Chairman S.R.Cho addresses to Korea-Japan Business Conference
    Chairman S.R.Cho participated in the Korea-Japan Business Conference, which was held in Sapporo for two days, beginning May 25th, where he met with Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi Junichiro, and Nikai Toshihiro, Minister of Economy and Industry, to express the position of the business community.
    Chairman Cho, who concurrently serves as the chairman of the Korea-Japan Business Conference, said "Japan must take center stage in establishing the Asian community, and urged Tokyo to show strong leadership despite conflicting interests." He also conveyed his message that "If Japan supports South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon, who is running for the post of U.N. Secretary-General, it will help the two countries improve their ties as well.”
    Prime Minister Koizumi said "Though politics between Korea and Japan remains at a low point, I feel good because exchanges in the private sector are expanding" adding that "The stalled summit diplomacy between the two countries is a temporary phenomenon, and will not last long." At the Sapporo meeting, top managers of companies representing the two nations discussed ways to boost economic cooperation between their countries, under the theme "Changes in Mega Trend in the 21st Century, and roles of Korea and Japan".
