The only Korean among 40 or so young global leaders from across the globe to host the first Korean event

Mr. Cho Hyun-sang, executive director of the strategy headquarters, became the only Korean to be named to the ‘YGL G20 Initiative’ by the World Economic Forum (WEF), which is a G20-related organization inside the Young Global Leader program. The ‘G20 Initiative,’ consisting of 40 or so young leaders representing 28 major countries including the main G20 countries, is an event where global leaders from around the world gather together, discussing the achievements of the G20 Summit. They exchange ideas about the activities that our next-generation leaders can initiate to build on the spirit of the G20 Summit and deliver the views and voices of young global leaders to national leaders. It is held every year in one of the 'G20 Summit' host countries.
Mr. Cho hosted this event for the first time this year on December 6 and 7 in Seoul and oversaw the event from start to finish. During this period, he led the YGL Initiative members, met with local leaders, including Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik and Sakong Il Chairman of the Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit, discussing the results of the ‘G20 Summit’ in Seoul. He even exchanged opinions on activities that next-generation global leaders of the world can do and supervised the entire schedule. In a meeting with the YGL leaders, Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik said “the voices of young leaders must be reflected and I find the YGL Initiative quite desirable.”
Members of the YGL Initiative include Mr. Cho Hyun-sang, Klaus Schwab Founder and Executive Chairman of WEF, Jimmy Wales founder of Wikipedia, Silvana Koch-Mehrin vice-president of the European Parliament, Martin Rosteo former Argentine Minister of Finance, Kevin Lu Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the World Bank, Alessia Mosca member of the Italian Parliament, Nikolia Prianishkov CEO of Microsoft Russia, Francois Xavier de Mallman managing director of Goldman Sachs, Deborah Cahn a Reuters journalist, Elena Lee CNN Asian editor-in-chief and Febreze Seyman CEO of Letetia Capital. He was named ‘Asia 21 Global Young Leader’ by Asia Society and ‘next-generation CJK leader’ by the Foreign Ministries of Korea, China and Japan. He is attracting public attention as a next-generation leader on the international scene.
