With Mercedes-Benz, HT solidifies its status as auto importing & retailing leader
Hyosung Toyota signed a deal to acquire Namyang Motors Co., Ltd., which is the Lexus dealership that covers Honam, the country’s southwestern region. The acquisition marked the beginning of Hyosung Toyota’s dealership operations in the region that includes cities such as Gwangju and Jeonju. To initiate its operation, Hyosung Toyota first signed a Honam regional dealership agreement with Toyota Motor Korea.
Hyosung Toyota plans to wrap up its post-acquisition integration in December and then to open an eco-friendly, state-of-the-art service center for its Toyota and Lexus customers by the year end. The new service center will be located in Sinchang-dong, Gwangju and will be the region’s largest such center, sprawling over a 6,600 square-meter plot.
The company’s advance into the Honam region is aimed at expanding the market to include regions other than the Metropolitan Seoul area. This will lay the foundations for its future status as a powerful nation-wide dealership. Its intended move into regions outside Seoul and Gyeonggi Province will also benefit regional customers who will now be gaining access to the decades-old experience and expertise as well as advanced services available at Hyosung.
