Children and mothers on a fun trip to farming community

On November 13th, workers at Nautilus Hyosung participated in a special outing for children in single-mother families. The event was titled “Me-and-Mom: A Trip to Oegajjip Maeul (My Maternal Grandparents’ Farm).”

Hosted by Global Vision (non-governmental international aid program) and sponsored by Nautilus Hyosung, the Me-and-Mom outing was designed to offer respite to the mothers and children in single-parent homes by treating them to a leisurely autumn trip to an agricultural community. The trip aimed at offering opportunities to the overstrained families to enjoy a leisurely trip as well as the deepening fall scenery. The destination for the day was Oegajjip Maeul in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province. The troupe consisted of 33 individuals including workers from Nautilus Hyosung’s Marketing Division and mothers and children in single-parent families. In the village, they enjoyed a colorful activity program that featured ‘making and eating dotorimuk (acorn jelly),’ ‘making injeolmi (sticky rice cake),’ ‘practicing traditional Korean archery,’ ‘making rice straw rope’ and many more. The Nautilus workers acted as volunteers, chaperoning the children and hanging out with the moms.

Nautilus Hyosung has been engaged in various CSR programs year-round, such as sponsoring low-income children’s cultural exposures, laughter therapy for single-elderly households, social skill improvement programs for disabled children and outings for low-income families. The me-and-mom trip was designed as part of the family outing for low-income families.
