Workers’ safety awareness reinforced through firefighting operation
The Ulsan Plant conducted fire drills on November 12th at its PET recycling center near the front gate. The latest drill was attended by the plant director and head of Nylon & Polyester Fiber PU, Yu Han-chun and other team heads. It was also overseen by Park Jeong-jin, who is the director of Nambu Fire Station’s chemical rescue team, to ensure a more systematic firefighting operation. Upon the completion of the drill, senior director of the plant, Jo Chun, stressed the importance of strengthening safety awareness. ”Fire breaks out not because we don’t know it can, but because we kind of believe it will never happen to us,” he said. “And that false sense of security results in us letting our guard down, blinding us to numerous little signs that tell us there are risks.”
