TFT Formed to Effectively Respond to Government’s Low Carbon Green Growth Initiative
Korea’s Lee Myung-bak Administration passed the Framework Act on Low Carbon, Green Growth, as part of its commitment to the April 2010 climate change treaty and selected and announced on September 28th a group of 374 companies in each sector as demonstrators. In accordance with the law, Hyosung Group is required to prepare an emissions inventory report for its 47 sites, then it will submit the list to the government by the end of March 2011 via third-party verification. To respond competently to the government’s latest measure, the Strategic Planning Division has put together a TFT to write a report on the sites’ greenhouse gas emissions inventory establishment and to seek energy-saving strategies for high-consuming facilities.
