His TAC Commercialization Leadership Recognized during 1st Display Day Ceremony

On October 4th, the Hyosung director, Kim Yong-won, received a Minister of Knowledge Economy commendation during the inaugural ceremony for the 1st Display Day. Mr. Kim was recognized for his leadership in the successful commercialization of TAC (tri-acetyl cellulose) film for LCD applications, in which he had been engaged since 2005. Hyosung is the only Korean company to have ever succeeded in the actual commercialization of the film, which forms the core material for LCD products. Against the years of Japanese domination in the TAC market, Hyosung’s successful commercialization is expected to substitute Japanese imports and to significantly contribute to the technology development of the related industries in Korea.
