Packaging PU plans to put soy milk in PET bottles using the aseptic filling system (AFS) for the first time in Korea. The Soy in My Hand drink by Binggrae will be filled in a multilayer PET bottle that blocks UV and oxygen to maintain freshness for a long period of time. ‘Asepsys’ is a charging system used by Packaging PU, where drinks are filled into PET bottles in a sterile state. Most of the drinks charged this way in the past were teas and grain-based drinks with lower acidity. But asepsys is suitable for a clean and safe filling of low acid drinks, as well as high-protein dairy products. Since they are pasteurized at high temperatures in a very short period of time, then filled into bottles in a sterile state, the drinks are able to maintain their genuine flavors and aromas. PET bottles are also lighter and more portable than glass bottles or paper packs, which are the conventional packages for soy milk and can be easily re-capped. The dimensional bottle design that resembles a soy pod is interesting and offers a better grip for consumers.
