Hyosung exhibited at the Hyosung Hall during the 2011 Global Electric Power Tech Exhibition, held at the COEX in Seoul between May 18 and 20, capturing the eyes of many people in the industry and visitors by showcasing its latest smart grid technology. The Global Electric Power Tech is the largest smart grid exhibition held in Korea, with over 30,000 visitors a year. Hyosung demonstrated its electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and motors in the Smart Transportation category. Visitors watched the simulation of quick and full charging systems and examined its replica model. In the Smart Power Grid category, STATCOM, solar inverters and fuel cells were on display. STATCOM is one of the FACT equipment, which helps to maintain an even supply of renewable energy, such as solar power or wind turbines and one of the key elements of a smart grid system. The solar inverter converts the DC from the sun into AC; 250kW and 50kW models were displayed at the exhibition.
