Hyosung is set to teach material science researchers and set up a course on high-tech materials for prospective graduate students. ‘Materials Industry and Technological Innovation’ was held for Master’s and Doctorate students in chemical engineering, fiber and polymer engineering and energy engineering at Hanyang University on March 31. This lecture was put together to prepare talented students to become researchers with the requisite knowledge and expertise that companies need. The course covers a variety of diverse topics that Hyosung is currently pursuing in R&D. These include high-tech fibers, composite materials, water treatment membranes, optical film and petrochemicals.
Hyosung R&D Lab Chief Woo Sang-seon as well as 20 other executives and general managers gave several lectures to provide an opportunity for students to learn about real, on-the-job experiences and the latest materials technology trends within the industry. This course is expected to help foster talented researchers and experts – a necessity for companies who need people to work in the field of high-tech materials in the future.
“Hyosung is very interested in fostering talented researchers through industry-academic cooperation,” said Hyosung R&D Lab Chief Woo Sang-Seon and added, “This course can serve to embolden the field of high-tech materials for students, allowing companies to increase their talented pool of researchers.” Oh Seong-geun, professor with the Division of Chemical Engineering and Bio Engineering, said that “this would be the perfect opportunity for students to experience the expertise of R&D specialists at Hyosung and the technological competitiveness OF the real market.” He added, “This will help students grow into real industry researchers.” The course started with Chief Woo’s special lecture on March 9 and the remaining lectures will be held for 150 minutes starting at 3 pm every Wednesday until the end of the semester.
