    - Produces wind power generators with Korea’s best technology

The Power & Industrial Systems PG signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Southern Power Co., and Hyundai Heavy Industries to form a consortium to construct wind power generation complexes. Under the MOU, Hyosung and Hyundai Heavy will take charge of production of wind power generators, while Korean Southern Power will take charge of power generation operations. The wind power generation consortium will install 100 units of 2MW-class power generators to be produced by Hyosung, across the country by late 2012. This is the first time that wind power generator makers and a power company formed partnership for cooperation. Of those power generators, inland wind power generators (150MW-class) will likely be installed in Jeongseon and Taebaek, Gangwon Province, while marine wind power generators (50MW-class) will likely be mounted on waters just off Jeju and Busan.
The Power & Industrial Systems PG has earned high recognition for its superior technology, as it developed a 2MW-class wind power generator banking on the best technology in Korea. Notably, since wind power generators are hard to fix once they are installed, operators prefer products with long durability, and the consortium project is expected to again demonstrate the long durability of Hyosung’s wind power generators.

The Power & Industrial Systems PG completed the development of 2MW-class wind power generators, and has begun test operation.
